"I am competitive and have a passionate commitment to my clients’ legal defense. I have the experience it takes to achieve success. I’m a father, a coach, and an active community volunteer. I also take my role as “counselor” seriously. Many clients are facing family and personal emergencies. I take pride in helping my clients navigate their personal and legal issues."

Jim is competitive and has a passionate commitment to representing his clients’ best interests.  Jim’s area of concentration is in criminal defense and family law and in bringing, or defending civil restraining orders.  Jim works with clients who are facing serious, life-altering decisions.  Most are either facing prosecution from the heavy hand of the State, or are negotiating a turbulent divorce or family matter.

Jim completed his undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Hamilton College (’94), and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School (’03).

Jim started his legal career as an Assistant County Attorney for a few years, but found greater satisfaction in criminal defense.

Jim supports his community in a number of ways – a member of the Henniker, Contoocook and Concord Chambers of Commerce, a Town of Hopkinton Library Trustee, past President of the White Birch Center in Henniker, School Moderator for the Henniker Community School and John Stark Regional High School, Henniker Youth Athletic Committee, youth baseball coach. Since 1993, Jim has coached high school football as a Head Coach, Offensive and Defensive Coordinator and position coach. Recently, Jim has taken a sabbatical from coaching to focus on his family, firm and other ventures!

Jim lives in Contoocook, NH with his wife, Emily, high school-aged kids Liam and Thea, and cat, Mr. Smith.  Jim spends as much time as possible outside, cycling, skiing – Nordic and Alpine, hiking, kayaking and boating.
